Design to a mailbox can conjure a declaration to a location. What if every US Postal Service box had some kind of graffitti labeled on it. I think some of these are cool. Viewing that each tag would actually look like someone spent some time on it would make the box more unique. You would always know where this dropbox was. Would it make the residents of those neighborhoods more welcome to an artist displaying their piece of mind on property? There are obvious cases of vandalism that strike rural perhaps suburban neighborhoods, but what I admire is the ingenuity behind the work. Would I like to catch these dirtbags in action, of course. I’m not thinking of it getting smashed while it’s giving a treat to passers-by. In a place where there may be not much to remember it would be a sight to see how people would all see the embrace of a single idea. Who would have thought it would be a mailbox?
Where I arrive after long train rides and no sleep after work, this is the place! Plenty of talented, aspiring musicians all recording to soothe that spot in our mind and your soul.
By the Hudson I caught a soldier walking with his ruck, but everyday ordinary people make our defense network up. While you can reflect on that horrific day all those that lost their lives, things you still want to say, it’s the way we live that speaks louder. I’m proud everyday, proud to say a lot. The journey you continue is what can free you from the moments in life where an image or event can steer your day in a different direction. You look at people and admire their courage, but not everyday do we glance in a strager’s life to find out why they are who they are. To put one’s life up for grabs to be captured by disease, a foreign enemy, a belief that was not attainable in their native country, acceptance, or a purpose through generations of a lifestyle to embed traditions that create a lineage of prominence.
Many reasons soldier’s fight. College money was my price. No one told me about the attachment to strangers that develops in less than a year, some quicker. The Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and countless other conditions that always go easy with a bottle of liquor. Who knows how many homeless Americans wearing army fatigues are actually veterans? Why do they call army uniforms “fatigues” to begin with? The memories may be unsuitable for their doctor to live with. Premium treatment is insufficient, so when you see the jacket and don’t ask who is this……I don’t know.
Praise feels good but is it enough and sustaining for a man or woman to raise their head up and take off their hood? Maybe for November 11th. The U.S. changes faster than many can keep up, then it seems difficult for many to be granted employment when time in service is up. This is part of my story, to the soldier who marches on is where I give my glory. My education has not come to an end, thank you to all the complete strangers I can call friend. I salute you!
